🦇 First Timer Tips

  • Arrive 90 minutes early for bridge viewing on weekends. Crowds form quickly.
  • Bats emerge at dusk, typically 30-45 minutes after sunset depending on conditions.
  • The emergence lasts 20-45 minutes as waves of bats stream out.
  • Stay for the whole show - the end can be as spectacular as the beginning.
  • South Congress (SoCo) has great restaurants and bars for dinner after.
